Peter Alden

    Head Coach

 

Peter Alden is a Connecticut native and a former Division I hockey player at UMass Amherst (Hockey East) and Quinnipiac University (ECAC).  Alden grew up in Connecticut and furthered his playing career by playing Junior Hockey in the NAHL & EJHL. 

During the hockey season, Alden serves as the President and Program Director of the Elite Hockey AAA organization.  Peter spent four seasons at the varisty level at Choate Rosemary Hall Prep School in Wallingford, CT and now is the Program Director of Elite Hockey Academy.  During Peter’s coaching career, he has reached the Tier 1 USA National Championships three times, coached three NHL draft picks, 20 D-1 hockey players and has helped over 50 kids move on to contribute at the prep school and junior levels.

Dave Crandall

    Associate Head Coach

David Crandall will be joining Peter Alden’s coaching staff as the 15U Associate Head Coach and Director of Player Development for the 2017-18 season.  Crandall is currently a Regional Scout for the Youngstown Phantoms (USHL) and has spent the past 17 years coaching Tier 1 midgets, most recently at New Jersey power house, the Delbarton School.  He is thankful to have had the opportunity to work with several NCAA D1/D3, Junior and youth hockey coaches and players.  He holds a MA in Psychology with a major concentration in leadership and team building. 

“I am really excited to be joining the Elite Hockey Program. The emphasis the program places on player development and promotion compliments my player development experience and scouting role” said Crandall. 

Crandall’s coaching success includes building strong teams that have won the Labor Day Tier 1 Face Off and more notable accomplishments that include an Atlantic District Championship, two Atlantic Youth Hockey League (AYHL) Championships, an International Silver Sticks Regional Championship and an International Silver Sticks Regional Finalist.  His coaching experience also includes participating for several years in both USA Hockey’s Player Development camps and the Atlantic District Player Development program where he participated as an evaluator, coach and team leader.

David is a true professional and we are fortunate to have him in our organization” said Elite Hockey Program President, Peter Alden.

Crandall resides in Annandale, NJ with Audrey Melnick.  His step-son, Josh Melnick, currently plays Division 1 for the Miami Redhawks.
