Luke Curadi

     Head Coach

Luke Curadi will be entering his second season as 18U Head Coach  for Elite Hockey Program. A native of Cheshire, CT,  Luke has been a valued member of the Elite Hockey staff since summer of 2016.  In addition to coaching 18U, Curadi serves as Director of Player Personnel for the Elite Hockey Program, identifying and evaluating prospective players for EHP. Curadi is currently the New England Scout for the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL) and Philadelphia Rebels (NAHL).

Coming from a strong playing background, Curadi played one year with the Adirondack Thunder in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) before moving on to to coaching and scouting.  Prior to turning pro, Curadi attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (ECAC - NCAA D1), where he was a four year letter winner and served as an assistant captain during his senior season in 2015. He played junior hockey in the United States Hockey League (USHL) for the Dubuque Fighting Saints.  In Dubuque, where he also served as the team's assistant captain, Luke won a Clark Cup Championship in 2011 under Jim Montgomery, current Head Coach of Denver University.

Austin Root

        Associate Head Coach

Entering his second season with the Elite Hockey Program, Austin Root has helped develop and advance players at the midget level for several years.  Root, who hails from Allendale, New Jersey, re-joins Luke Curadi on staff for the 2018-19 season. In addition to coaching 18U, he will also serve as Associate Director of Recruiting, Marketing and Player Development.  Austin is currently on the staff of NAHL Central Scouting.  Along with Luke Curadi, Root runs the organziations summer team Elite Hockey Battalion. 

Austin brings a solid Tier 1 coaching background.  Prior to joining Elite, he helped lead the NY Aviators 16U National team to a 35-16-6 record in 2016-17.  Before that Austin assisted the NJ Avalanche 15U team that won AYHL 16U American division. 

Prior to coaching, Root was a four year letter winner with the SUNY-Canton Kangaroos (NCAA D3), including being named an assistant captain his junior and senior seasons. Upon graduation, Austin earned a degree in sports management.

Austin currently lives in East Haven, CT.
